Heatproof for forging
Our heat resistant barcode and serial number tracking tags and labels are engineered to withstand post-forging processes including annealing, quenching and tempering.
They can survive temperatures up 1200°C for many hours, enabling the information they carry to survive the rigours of reprocessing.
Heatproof Tags can be attached to a variety of metal products including hot steel, immediately after casting, via nail guns, welding or hooks. Tags can be attached cold or up to 1200°C.
Our ‘hot-applied’ labels can be applied between 300°C and 950°C. This is made possible through proprietary heat activated adhesive which requires pressure and time to achieve adhesion.
These labels eliminate the need to wait until a product has cooled to identify it. Barcode labels can be applied immediately after the casting process. The materials are also capable of withstanding subsequent exposure to temperatures up to 800°C.
Why Heatproof?
Once applied, a Heatproof tag or label will stay on as long as you need it to:
- Heatproof barcoded tags and labels help improve productivity
- Correct information at the point of manufacture improves process control and batch identification through the supply chain
- Eliminate the inaccuracy of handwritten text or stamps
- Reduce customer complaints and costly returns
Design, print and application
Our tags and labels can be simply printed by yourself on site and include text, logos and 1D and 2D barcodes. The design software is easy to use and has the flexibility to include all necessary information. This allows for both long range scanning of barcodes and easily readable text.
Printing is by thermal transfer printer which is a proven and relatively low-cost solution. There is a variety of application methods depending on application temperature and budget. We have manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic systems available and can advise you on the best approach.
